Beyond the Fast: Feeling the Freedom of Movement
During Ramadan, we fast with our bodies — and feel, even briefly, what it means to be limited.
We know the relief of iftar. We know the joy of standing for Taraweeh. We know what it feels like to move freely — to walk to the masjid, carry our children, prepare for Eid.
There are children in Yemen who have never known that freedom.
Not because treatment does not exist.
Because they cannot get there.
ما وراء الصيام: أن تشعر بنعمة حرية الحركة
في رمضان، نصوم بأجسادنا — لنستشعر، ولو للحظات، مرارة العجز والقيود. ندرك جميعاً لذة الارتواء عند الإفطار، ونعرف بهجة الوقوف في صلاة التراويح. نعرف جيداً قيمة أن نتحرك بحرية — أن نمشي إلى المسجد، ونحمل أطفالنا، ونستعد لفرحة العيد. لكن هناك أطفالاً في اليمن لم يتذوقوا طعم هذه الحرية قط. ليس لعدم توفر العلاج. بل لأنهم ببساطة، يعجزون عن الوصول إليه.
“Meet Ahmed” — A Dream Smaller Than a Toy: Ahmed’s Long Wait for a Single Step
Ahmed is a young boy in Yemen living with a mobility disability.
He does not dream of toys.
He dreams of standing without falling. Walking without pain. Going to school the way other children do. Running — just once — without being afraid.
There are physiotherapists who can help him. There are braces that would fit him. There is a wheelchair that would free him.
But between Ahmed and the clinic — there is no safe way to get there.
His family cannot afford the transport. The
roads are not safe. And so he waits.
This Ramadan — you can end the wait.
أحمد طفل يمني صغير، يعيش بطلّته البريئة وإعاقته الحركية.
إنه لا يحلم بالألعاب كبقية الأطفال؛ بل يحلم بأبسط مقومات الحياة: أن يقف دون أن يسقط، أن يمشي دون أن يتألم، أن يذهب إلى مدرسته كبقية أقرانه، وأن يركض — ولو لمرة واحدة — دون خوف.
Most campaigns talk about treatment. We want to talk about what stands between a child and treatment.
In Yemen, thousands of children with mobility disabilities cannot access rehabilitation — not because clinics are closed, but because the journey there is impossible. Transport costs are unaffordable. Roads are dangerous. Families are exhausted.
A child who needs three therapy sessions a week may attend zero — not because no one cares, but because no one can get him there.
Your donation does not just pay for treatment. It gets him to the door.

في اليمن، يعجز آلاف الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة الحركية عن الوصول إلى خدمات إعادة التأهيل (Rehabilitation) — ليس لأن العيادات مغلقة، بل لأن الرحلة إليها مستحيلة. تكاليف النقل تفوق قدرة العائلات، والطرق وعرة وخطيرة، والأهالي أصابهم الإنهاك.
الطفل الذي يحتاج إلى ثلاث جلسات علاجية (Therapy Sessions) في الأسبوع قد لا يحضر أي واحدة منها — ليس لأن أحداً لا يهتم، بل لأنه لا يوجد من يستطيع إيصاله إلى هناك.
تبرعك لا يغطي تكلفة العلاج فحسب، بل هو الجسر الذي يوصل الطفل إلى باب العيادة.
We do not want our support to stop at treatment.
Because a child who can finally move — deserves to celebrate.
This Ramadan, alongside physiotherapy, braces, and wheelchairs, we are bringing Eid to these children:
Eid clothing — so they can dress like every other child on that morning
Eid sweets — because joy has a taste, and every child deserves it
Eidiya — a symbolic gift, placed in their hands, that says: someone thought of you
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that bring joy to others.”
This is not just rehabilitation.
This is a child’s first Eid with hope.

لا نريد لدعمنا أن يتوقف عند حدود العلاج فحسب.
لأن الطفل الذي يتمكن أخيراً من الحركة — يستحق أن يحتفل أيضاً. في هذا الرمضان، وإلى جانب العلاج الطبيعي (Physiotherapy) والجبائر (Braces) والكراسي المتحركة (Wheelchairs)، نحن نحمل فرحة العيد لهؤلاء الأطفال:
كسوة العيد: ليرتدوا ملابسهم الجديدة كبقية الأطفال في ذلك الصباح.
حلويات العيد: لأن للفرح مذاقاً، وكل طفل يستحق أن يتذوقه.
العيدية: هدية رمزية نضعها في أيديهم لتقول لهم: "هناك من فكر بكم".
قال النبي ﷺ: "أحبُّ الأعمالِ إلى اللهِ سرورٌ تُدخِلُه على مسلم".
هذا ليس مجرد تأهيل (Rehabilitation).. هذا هو عيد الطفل الأول المليء بالأمل.
One day this Ramadan will be a memory.
You will remember how you prayed. What you gave up. What you chose to do with the blessed nights while the doors of mercy were open.
Imagine knowing that somewhere in Yemen — a child stood for the first time. Walked to school. Wore new clothes on Eid morning. And smiled.
Because of you.
In a month defined by gratitude — be the reason a child has something to be grateful for.
ستمر أيام رمضان وتصبح يوماً ما مجرد ذكرى..
ستتذكر كيف صليت، وماذا بذلت، وكيف اخترت أن تقضي تلك الليالي المباركة وأبواب الرحمة مشرعة أمامك.
تخيّل شعورك وأنت تعلم أن طفلاً في مكان ما في اليمن، استطاع الوقوف لأول مرة.. مشى إلى مدرسته.. ارتدى ثياباً جديدة صباح العيد.. ورسمت الابتسامة على وجهه.. كل ذلك بفضلك أنت.
في شهرٍ عنوانه "الشكر" — كن أنت السبب الذي يجعل طفلاً يجدُ ما يشكر الله عليه.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that bring joy to others.”
May Allah accept your generosity and make it a light for you in this life and the next.
